Rukaiya Sabuwala is a RCI licensed Special Educator and the founder of Ruya Academy and Arts. She holds a Master’s degree in Special Education, is a certified art-based therapist, and has completed a Diploma in Educational Leadership from the Perkins School for the Blind (USA). She also has an Advanced Diploma in Arabic.

 

Rukaiya trains educators and supports families of learners with diverse needs, especially those with visual impairment and deafblindness. She focuses on developing literacy, communication, and functional life skills using evidence-based practices and ongoing research.

 

She also conducts art-based therapy sessions to support self-expression, emotional well-being, and mental health. Rukaiya in art as meaningful tools for learning and expression, always keeping the individual needs at the center of her work.
